After the discussion with prime minister at Prime Ministers House Colombo, decided to cancel all the current activities of the supposed project of Sri Lanka’s biggest international cricket stadium which located in homagama near the capital of Colombo.
The senior Sri Lankan cricketers of Roshan mahanama, Sanath Jayasuriya, Mahela jayawardena, Kumar sangakkara and few other players were attends the occasion.
Former SLC chairman Thilanga sumathipala also attend the discussion table with current head of SLC Shammi silva.
All were against the decision of SLC and governments plan to build a new cricket stadium in homagama as Sri Lanka’s biggest international cricket stadium.
The senior players and ex chairman of SLC cleared that over 10 international cricket stadiums in Sri Lanka which those are under the very less and poor facilities and accommodations. situation like that, build a new stadium is very useless and better to provide that massive amount of money for the Sri Lanka’s school cricket development and to reconstruction of all the poor facilities and accommodations in all international quality stadiums in the island, all seniors were cleared to Prime minister.
In the end prime minister agreed with senior cricketers and promised to do the things as their favour to build Sri Lankan cricket from its lower level.
